When we worship our goal is to honor, glorify and please God. Not only with our singing of hymns and hearing of a sermon, but also with hearts which have been prepared for worship, by confession of sin, prayer, true heart devotion and service of God during the week. We believe God’s Word is central to worship because it tells us both Who and how to worship, as Jesus taught – 24 “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24 NKJ)
We typically sing hymns, not out of a desire to be traditional, but rather in order to be as Biblically and Theologically correct as possible as we worship. We would sing Psalms and do sing those we know the tunes to. However, we only know a few. We are open to new music which properly honors God – NKJ Psalm 98:1 <A Psalm.> Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory. (Psalm 98:1 NKJ)
Pastor Brevick puts his detailed sermon outlines in the bulletin each week, usually for both the morning and evening services. These are included on our sermon audio link and on this website as well. Pastor Arnold Brevick prepares all his own sermons, and desires your prayers as he does, seeking the enabling of the Holy Spirit. Today, many pastors purchase their sermons online. This leaves more time for those pastors to do other things. Pastor Brevick has never done that. If he borrows from another he quotes that person.
On Sunday Evenings we typically sing six hymns in a row before Pastor preaches. We do not take an offering during the evening service. We have been blessed to have visitors from other churches join us in the evenings and we welcome all visitors.
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper the last Sunday of each month.
