When I was in college and even a bit after college I worked with the Navigators, a Christian group that ministers to college students and military personal. They used the above Bridge illustration to show us our NEED for Christ. The point is that without Christ’s cross taking care of our sin problem, the gulf between us and God is too great for us to cross. Not being able to cross means sin leads to death and judgment. Yet, Christ, and only Christ, enables us to pass over to eternal life.
